Conclusive Evidence to Worship Jesus

Conclusive Evidence to Worship Jesus

In John 9, Jesus heals a man born blind.  So for confirmation, the religious leaders investigated the situation.  For starters, they interviewed the man born blind, who declared that Jesus is the one who gave him sight.  Then they talked with the man’s parents, who also confirmed that their son was born blind, but now he sees.  So then the religious leaders went back to the man born blind again.  And in every step of the process, the evidence was conclusive.  It was consistent and confirming that Jesus gave physical sight to a man born physically blind; which obviously points us to the reality that Jesus is the one who gives spiritual sight, life, to those who are born spiritually blind, dead in their trespasses and sins.

And yet, despite all of this evidence, the religious leaders reject Jesus as the Messiah.  Verse 24 gives us their response, “We know that this man (Jesus) is a sinner.”  So they concluded that He is not the promised Savior from God.  And yet, how does the man born blind respond?  Verse 38 tells us, “And he said, ‘Lord, I believe.’ And he worshipped Jesus.”  Do you see?  There are only two ways to respond to Jesus.  You can either reject Him as a liar and a lunatic, or you can worship Him as Lord and Savior.  The evidence is right here in front of you.  The only question is, how will you respond?

Something to think about from the Proclamation point of view.
