Is He insane or is He God?

In John 10:20, there is much debate over who Jesus is. In fact, “Many of the religious leaders said, ‘He has a demon, and is insane: why listen to Him?’” And if you just look at the immediate context, you can totally understand their accusation of insanity.

Because Jesus has just declared, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.” He also said, “I am the good shepherd. I know My own and My own know Me, just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep… I have the authority to lay it down, and I have the authority to take it up again.” So Jesus claims to be a door, to be a shepherd, and to have the authority to lay down and take up His own life. These are outrageous statements!

And yet, He backed up everything that He had ever said. Most notably, He died for our sins, so that we can be forgiven and have access to God. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one come to the Father except through Me.” So He’s the doorway to God. And He was raised from the dead and offers to shepherd your soul all the way to heaven. So the question is, how will you respond to Jesus’ claims. Will you declare Him to be insane or you can worship Him as God?

Something to think about from the Proclamation point of view.
