The Word Made Flesh

The Word Made Flesh

In the opening verses of the gospel of John, he identifies Jesus as the Word, the Message, who is synonymous with God.  Listen for yourself.  John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John continues in verse 14 when he informs us of the greatest miracle of the Christian faith, the incarnation, that “the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son.”  John is boldly proclaiming that Jesus is God; and that He has come in the flesh in the person of Jesus Christ.  But why?  Well, he tells us in John 3:16, “That whoever believes in Him will not perish, but will have eternal life.”  Do you see?  That’s the good news of the gospel!  The only question is, have you embraced this message, this Word, by faith, so that you might have hope of eternal life?

Something to think about from the Proclamation point of view.
