Our Pastor

Steve Thiel is the senior pastor of Christ Proclamation Church.

He and his wife Linda came to faith in the spring of 2000 in a New England church plant in Vermont. They married in November of that same year and now have four wonderful and active kids: Gabriela, Samuel, Juliana, and Jeremiah. In August of 2013, they moved to Greater Hartford for the specific purpose of planting a gospel-driven church in the I-91 corridor north of the city. They now live in Windsor, Connecticut where they are actively involved in the community.

Steve is a native of Wisconsin and has been a fan of the Green Bay Packers since he was a kid.  In high school, he played football, basketball, baseball, and golf.  Steve then went on to Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where graduated in 1999 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.  The next transition took him out to Vermont to work for IBM, where he met several christians who invited him to a men's breakfast and then to church.  That's where Steve heard the gospel for the first time, was convicted of his sin, and turned to Christ in saving faith.

If you spend any time with Steve, you'll hear him talking about how the gospel is the power of God both for salvation and sanctification.  He also loves to read about the great revivals that have taken place in the Connecticut River Valley.  Steve still enjoys sports but now you'll find him at the local baseball or soccer field coaching or cheering on one of his kids rather than playing.  He also loves taking long walks with his wife Linda, bike rides with his kids, and a good cup of coffee at the local diner.  If you're interested, he'll be happy to buy you breakfast and tell you more about what's going on at Proclamation.

Just send a quick e-mail to Pastor Steve.
