The Lord Jesus suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God. Knowing that reality, believers are able to rejoice as they suffer for the name of Christ, living out the gospel of grace, looking forward to the eternal reward of glory.
I. Command Given: Rejoice in Suffering
A. Command #1 – Do Not Be Surprised – (v.12)
1. The fiery trial is normal
2. The purpose is to test you
B. Command #2 – Rejoice in Suffering – (vv.13-14)
1. The joy is sharing in Christ's sufferings

A. Don't suffer for doing what is evil – (v.15)
